↑ Return to Gods Armor

How to put it on.

Prayer to put on and renew the Armor of God

NOTE: Pray on the armor one time then pray for the renewal of the armor daily.  I do this because if you pray it on daily that means that at some point the armor has to come off – I will not be without the protection of the armor for even a second.  So to pray it on, instead of asking the Lord to “renew me through the _____” pray “Lord I put on the ____”, then every day there after pray the renewal.

Now Lord I ask that you renew me through the armor of God upon my body so that I may follow where you lead and lead where you send me.

Lord – Renew me through the Sandals of Peace upon my feet so that I may walk upon the path, which you have placed me on, so that I may walk on, over, around or through any obstacles, or pitfalls placed there by the enemy.  Renew me so that I may accept your peace in my life and that the turmoil, which often afflicts me, will be overcome and your peace will reign in my life.  Fill me with your peace so that I may share your peace with others in hope that they too may understand your love and forgiveness.  I know that this peace does not mean that all things will be perfect, rather that you will help me through all that comes my way.

Lord – Renew me through the Belt of Truth girded about my waste for your word is truth and truth is in your word.  And help me to live a life of truth and to discern truth in all things so that I may better serve you in all that I do.  And help me to share your truth with others.

Lord – Renew me through the Breast Plate of Righteousness upon my chest so that I may stand in your righteousness since I have none of my own.  And protect my heart and help me to use love, compassion, understanding and wisdom in all my dealings with my fellow man, and help me to temper my thoughts so that I am not self-righteous but compassionate in the way I treat others.

Lord – Renew me through the Helmet of Salvation upon my head I ask that you open my eyes to see, my ears to hear and my lips to speak your words of praise, and that you will always be in the forefront of my mind at all times and in all things to be my guide and my mentor and I ask that you protect my thoughts.  And help me to uplift, edify and encourage others.

Lord – Renew me through the Shield of Faith upon my arm to block the fiery darts of the enemy protecting not only myself but others.  I ask that you would grant me wisdom to use faith to bridge the gap between those who are lost and Your son Jesus so that they too may one day have a relationship with our Heavenly Father.

Lord – Renew me through sword of the Spirit your mighty and powerful word, for by your word you created all things, you spoke life and you spoke death, teach me to wield this sword for your honor and glory and in service to you and for your children so that I may use it in either defense or offence to protect myself and others and take the battle to the enemy when required.  For this sword is your word of truth and no power can stand against it.

The Warriors Prayer

NOTE: Now that you have prayed on and are renewing the armor on a daily basis let’s take it a step further and offer ourselves as warriors for Christ.

Now Lord I bow before you on bended knee and offer you my fealty, and love, and I ask that you grant me serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things that I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

Father God I ask that you would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me to keep evil from me so that I may not be troubled by it or trouble others.  And that you would help me to reach out to others in your name, and that you would grant me wisdom and discernment to follow your guidance in all things and I pledge to you my allegiance for now and forever.

Now Lord I rise to stand before you a man dressed in your armor, a warrior preparing to go forth.  And as I stand here I cast my eyes to the heavens above and raise the sword of the Spirit on high in salute to you my Lord, my God and my King.

Lord I ask that you would emblazon this sword with love, mercy, compassion, with truth, wisdom, justice, with strength, courage and perseverance. And I ask that this light wash out, in, around and through me, dispelling any darkness that may yet remain in me and renew your armor upon my body.  So that as I go forth your light will precede me banishing the darkness before me revealing the enemy in its hiding places, driving it back into the netherworld from whence they have come.

Lord I ask that you would reveal those who have been lost, broken, forgotten, and abandoned. And Jesus, you who are the light of the world, let your light shine like a beacon in the night so that they may come to you, so they too may have a relationship with You and the Father.

Jesus so that I may bring honor and glory to the Father; I ask that you grant me wisdom like that of Solomon to love others and to discern truth in all things, courage like that of David and Daniel to love others and not be afraid to show it and to use everything at my disposal to further your word.  And humility like that of Moses, John and Paul to always know that it is not me but You working in and through me for Gods glory.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. So Father strengthen and aid me to be prepared by warring your armor and become a Warrior for you. So that now and when that day of evil comes I will be able to stand my ground against the wiles of the enemy, stand firm and in front of those who are unable to yet stand on their own.

You are my strength, my fortress, my refuge and my God.

All this I ask and receive in the name Jesus, my Lord and Savior.
